Default Voltage drop

I was riding the other day, and noticed when I applied the front brake, while sitting at a light the voltage meter would drop. I increased the rpm and it didn't change until I released the brake lever. Test the rear brake and no drop in voltage. I have the brake/turnsignal module installed. What do I need to be looking for?

year/model/ which module?
ABS?

um a real test would be see if this is observed when the bike is off.

if so,

you could pull the - battery cable, put an ammeter inline and check the current draw

a.) as it sits ( ign. on, kill switch to "stop" radio, all other access off.

b.) apply front brake

c.) apply rear brake

OFF the top of my head, applying the brake and activating the brake light, should draw less than 1 amp more than the reading: a.

if more than 1 amp, and only on the front brake then i would look at added accessories first ( such as the module).
returning the bike to "stock" lighting and check again.

the dash meter is not accurate so you need an handheld meter...ditigal preferably. look for bike wide drains on the charging system not just the one that broke the camels back. so how old is your battery, what accesories have you added, basically is the charging system stuggling to keep voltage up on a bike with an old battery and over loaded with accessoroes?

2005 Ultra, no accessories other than factory installed. The module is the one that coverts the rear turnsignals to brake lights. The only time there is a voltage drop, is when the front brake is activitated sitting at a light or on a hill. Rear brake dosen't cause the drop. Battery is the orginal battery and test's ok. New stator installed last year. As soon as the lever is released the voltage will go back to normal which is almost to the 14 on the dial.

interested to find out the outcome of this since the 'front' brake doesn't activate anything differently than the 'rear' brake.
