After riding a 99 EG Standard with a carb for 10 years with ZERO problems I don't know what to think about all of the electrical problems with the ECMs and PCVs on the new bikes that everyone here talks about.
I bought a 2010 FLHTCU last month with 7,500 miles on it. The original owner had already added Stage I and Rush slip-ons and the bike runs great. It never had a PCV that I know of because I am the 3rd owner of the bike and the person I bought it from did not know either.

Is there any way to find out if it ever had a PCV?

It still has the CAT.

'09 SG, with a PCV (under the seat) from Fuel Moto since new. I put di-electric grease on the connectors when I installed it. Changed mufflers and changed maps many times.15,000 miles and it has run flawless, not a hiccup...

I think your dealer is just trying to scare you, they haven't tried to get you to buy a screaming eagle tuner yet have they?
No problem in 3 years with my PCV.
As for dealers claiming that using a PCV could void the warranty, they're full of sh*t. That's what one told me one day and he wanted me to ditch it for a SEST. I asked him why the box of the SEST says that it's not for road use and it will void the warranty. He couldn't answer. <g>

+1

I been in many dealerships that have the "Authorized Dynojet Tuning Center" banner displayed proudly in the service department. The ones that don't sell and service them are the ones spewing the "void the warranty" line of BS.
