Default who has the best winter riding gear?

I know its still in the upper 90 's. But dont want to wait till the last minute. Used leather for many years, but hasn't really kept me all that warm. Have heard that textiles will keep you warmer than leather, and are water proof to boot. I have read quite a bit about textiles, but it seems I am no further at knowing what works and what fits right for the ridding position. Maybe I just need better leather, or better under layers. Either way I'm hoping a lot of you will weigh in here an help those of us who havn't learned how to dress properly for winter ridding.

Heated gear is the way to go if you want to stay warm.

I started with just the heated jacket liner and it alone works good. You keep your core warm and it's easier to keep the rest warm. I have added the heated pants liner now also both are Gerbings.

Rode to 325 miles to Branson back in march and it never got above 35 degrees. It was 29 when I left the house and only thing that ever got cold was my feet.

I took the liner out of my leather coat and I use the Gerber liner even if it's not cold enough to need it plugged in.

Will probally add the shoe inserts this winter.

I second the Gerber jacket liner. Got us each one (wife and I) for Christmas and they are sweet. I carry it spring and fall too works as a nice mid weight wind breaker not even plugged in. Then if it turns cold plug in and dial up to comfy. They are great under your leather when it turns colder.

I use the Gerbings Extreme Element jacket and overpants. It's a full textile suit that's warm and waterproof.

I've tried just about everything over 25 years trying to stay warm...nothing worked. Then, I got a Gerbing jacket, gloves and socks. Problem solved! The stuff is simply amazing. Many mornings, riding to work with temps around 20 degrees, I've had to cut the thermostat back....I was getting too hot.

If you want to ride when it's cold and stay toasty warm, get some Gerbing stuff. You won't regret it.

I swear by my Gerbings heated coatliner.....full sleeves and a
high collar keep the body warm.
I bought mine in 2001 and have had no issues what-so-ever....
If and when it goes KaPutt, I'll send it in for repairs.
