My 2000 goes 37 miles each way everyday and just turned 92,000 miles.
Why would I trade it in and take a beating only to run the heck out of a 2012 ultimately running that one into the ground too?
Sounds expensive.
Ride what ya' got, check it over each weekend, tighten what needs tightened. You may find out that it's a better bike than you think.
If that doesn't work after awhile, then consider trading it.

Well i decided to go for the trade in. i went to SD Harley and spoke with Larry. they only had one 2012 on the floor which surprised me. of course i was a day late for the best looking paint on an Ultra. the day before they had in a blue and black combo bike which in my opinion is the best looking bike Harley painted for the 2012. the 2012 they had was all black.
now i know from experience and from reading on the forum that the black bikes are the best looking bikes when cleaned. however keeping that way.... well as Tony S would say, "Forget about it." so im waiting for my color to come in.
we ran the numbers and i will be getting 16K for my bike, after paying mine off, that will give me 11K down. the payment will be an extra 50 bucks a month more than what im paying now. that extra 50 bucks will give me the new frame, wider tire, the 103 and ABS. i was comfortable with that.
so now im waiting for a phone call from Larry. ill let you guy know when i pick up my new ride.

get a cage first. My bad weather cage is a 92 chevy short wheel base step side pu I gave 2300.00 a copule of years ago it has 162,000 miles on it but the heater,ac, and radio still works I dont know about the casette player
if it works or not but for 2300.00 who gives a care, I only travel 30 miles one way
