RKC Brake Pads

RKC Brake Pads
I just recently put new chrome calipers and polished stainless rotors in front and kept the stock pads. I've got about 500 miles on them and they squeal like an SOB when stopping! Scares the sh*t out of drivers around me (kind of cracks me up), but I'd like to quiet it down a tad. I find myself using my rear brake alot more.....which is leading to the other issue....brake dust. Brake dust and WWW's don't mix.
What are the best pads that are quiet and produce less dust than the stockers?
Thanks in advance!!

I'm not sure but did you scuff or sand down those used pads before putting them on the new rotor? That may help out.

If you didn't take some medium grit sandpaper and take the glaze off the friction material (pad surface), that's mist likely your problem... Not sure IF or WHEN it'll go away, but I'd sure take the glaze off ASAP. You can also put a light coat of a lubricant designed for hi-temp brake use (let's say very, very light coat) in the backing plates of the pads. The absolute best product I've ever used is Sta-Lube (Link: http://www.crcindustries.com/ei/cont...x?S=Y&PN=05351 )

so:
I'm fine with the stock pads, but reusing pads that have worn in to your old rotors... you should sand them flat and smooth for the new rotors, that'll also remove any glaze
also chamfer ( sand at a slight angle) the leading edges of the pads
use an antisqueak on the backside of the pads, like RTV silicone, but has to be hi temp- auto parts store
the squeak is from the pads vibrating, the coating on the backside is to dampen vibrations.
soft pads squeak less, shorter service life, more dust/ hard pads last longer, more likely to squeak, less dust
there is a trade off, your choice.
