Default Pics of fairing support brackets

This last weekend I installed a full set of Ragan Fab Werks fairing support brackets to reinforce my stock brackets on my 07 FLHT. I just installed a Biketronics radio kit and with the extra weight of the radio, and especially the speakers, I felt I could end up with cracked brackets. So I got these off Ebay (after hearing about them in this forum) and installed them over the top of my existing un-broken brackets. These supports are stainless steel and precision made. They fit perfect only requiring some holes to be drilled. Here are some pics of the radio set up and the brackets.

How timely. One of my already broken, once JBwelded brackets went again Friday. Please send a link.

44 bucks plus 5 shipping ? sounds kinda steep. I got some small thick aluminum 90s from lowes for less then 6 bucks. drill and bolt in place. Good as new.

If you seen how well these are made and fit, including the properly bent angles, you may change your mind. Even though it may seem a bit steep on price, the materials used and precision of manufacture can't be matched by rigging some 90 degree bent plate.

Dealer quoted me $46 per side. Was the $44 for both or just one side?

The $44 is for 4 brackets and 8 stainless steel bolts and 8 nylon locknuts. 2 top brackets and 2 side brackets. They fit right on, perfectly, over the original brackets. You will need to pull the side brackets off to fit and drill the holes for the new reinforcement brackets. All quite easy to do. These new bracket reinforcements are super well made, really surprised me, and fit great.

I previously had bought some upper bracket reinforcements that were advertised to fit over the existing un-broken brackets. Unfortunately the main bolt hole was nowhere near close and when I tried to elongate the hole, the hole nearly went past the edge of the bracket. So I tossed those in the trash and got these Ragan models.

FYI: From the product narrative, the braces only work on pre-2009 batwing fairing bikes...

Was the problem fixed in 2010?? I've got an 10 FLHX. Never knew that was a problem?
