Default How many miles should a new bike have?

How many miles should a brand new have, before leaving the dealership? I'm in the process of buying a new RGC. I was told that my bike will have 5 miles on it. When I got the call that the bike was in. It had 19 miles on it. The salesman said that the bike has never, been test rode by a customer. Is 19 miles the norm?

Mine had 18 or 20 miles on it. Dealer trade. The dealer I was working with didn't have exactly what I wanted, but found one at another dealer and traded with them. When your dealer was giving it the pre-sale inspection something could have showed up and they test drove it. Lots of reasons, is there something wrong with yours that you think was caused during that 19 miles?

My 2011 had 7 miles on it. However, I had custom wheels installed, so they probably took it for a spin to check for vibrations.

I haven't picked it up yet. My last new bike had 5 miles on it. That's the salesman told me.This one would have the same. I was just wondering how often this happens.

Somebody rode it a few miles beyond what it had from HD delivering it to the dealership but 19 miles on the odometer certainly does not make it a "demo" bike.
A dealership tried to get me to trade my '08 UC for 11' Limited last year or so and they pulled the bike off the floor for me to drive, it had like a couple of miles on it and I added probably less than 10 more.

Maybe the guy told you that by honest mistake or maybe he didn't want it to possibly spoil the deal. I would have asked how the difference got on there just for the sake of knowing.

They have to assemble it and take a test ride and if something is not right, fix it and test ride again. Guess it depends on how long the test loop is.

Mine had about 10 miles on it.
