Default factory test

if you take the factory tour each bike goes into a small booth and 2 rollers pop up out of the floor. they hook a fuel line up to injectors-- no gas in tank for shipping reasons. and they fire it up they go through all the gears, try brakes,, rollers even bounce up and down to see it any part of suspension is loose or dont work. the cpl of runs I saw they were in there for about 5 minutes and above the door is a speedo u can look at, and yes it said 100 mph brand new bike so the keep it under 50 the dealer tells u kind of makes me laugh since it already had the snot cranked out of it in the test booth.
the dealer has to put some of it together and I image they give it a test run to make sure everything is ok. so 15-25 miles probably is a norm

There are a lot of differing theories as to proper break-in.
I suscribe to the 100mph one but that would be another thread.
As to the 19 kms... it wouldn't bother me. I put 1,000 hard ones on my 07 in the first week.
Take it home and ride it.

the speedo is tested at the factory, the bike is rolled around and ran on a dyno, packed up.put back together, rolled around the shop, test road(a good tech will take a little longer test ride to check it out thoroughly)then it is rolled to the show floor.it is rolled around for cleaning and "redecorating" the floor layout..19 miles isnt very high..

Several years ago I picked up a new bike at the York Factory in PA. It had 19 miles on it and it never left the factory grounds. If it had a couple hundred miles then maybe you should say something. Other than that what difference does it make?

Default Look at other bikes

Look at other bikes at the dealership... maybe the test route is longer than most.

Mine had 2 miles on it when it was delivered. The bikes with 15 to 20 miles probably were tested at lunch time and got to go on a longer run. Or maybe they tested them in the burn out pit.
