Love my H-D adjustable backrest. Wish it was shorter. One day I will either find or fabricate a shorter arm for it; I want the pad lower on my back. Still love it!
Man, me too! I love mine, and I'm around 5'9", which ain't exactly jockey-sized, and it's a tad taller than I'd like.
However, the installation instructions are indeed wrong. I even checked with the Service Manager, who takes great joy in busting my ***** when I screw something up, but even he said that they're wrong. They tell you to install the adjuster upside down. If you follow the directions as printed, I wouldn't be surprised if you had rubbing somewhere.
Here is an article with some pictures which might clear up some of the installation questions.
I had 07 street glide with a non adjustable backrest ,sold the bike and upgraded to a 2014 street glide kept the backrest off my 07 and installed it on the14 the mount has me pushed to far forward ,I looked at the mounts on Harley site different part number but they look the same except the strap bracket on the front , when mounted on the fender with it in the most rear position its still angled forward .does anyone know the difference in the brackets ? I hate to spend $45 and still have the same issue . I believe I could shim under the front of my bracket and angle it rearward and it would be fine.
