Well....then I need to get these bolts and swap them out then.......My bike is 4 months old, and if I can stave off a failure and save a couple hundred bucks, then it MUST be done.

The part number above, is that for bolts with a head that doesn't rub, or are they just replacement bolts?

Thanks for the heads up guys.

I actually LIKE my HK stereo. Good to know IronCorss can fix it when it does finally go.

I think I'll get the dremel out and grind the bolts down a bit, sure is a lot of work to correct a factory born problem

I put in a different top clamp when I changed my bars. It's one piece, and I think its also lower profile. Don't know for sure, been awhile since I've been in there.

I'd like to find out when Harley revised the bolts. I have an 09 and the one piece clamp. Figure if I have to pull the radio to change the bolts, I might as well change my bars while I'm at it.

I think after my ride today, I'm gonna pull the batwing off and take a peek. I'll get back to you guys and let you know since I have a 2011, and can see if the problem was remedied after 2009.

I don't think new hardware is necessary, if you entertain the fastner tightening sequence I mentioned earlier. I could be wrong though, it's hard to keep up with all the obscure changes from year to year.

Harley addresses the issue of the new bolts and the radio issue in S/B M1289, it gives the part number for the new bolts, I am not sure what year they started putting the newer bolts in the bikes, we changed my 09 ultra and my buddy had the same older bolts in his 2010 ultra, and his radio was hitting as well. Replaced his under warranty and put new bolts in.
