2011 Street Glide: Fuel Pump Constantly Whines. Normal or Not?
2011 Street Glide with 4K miles.
When starting, the fuel pump pressures right up, then stops like it should.
However, once the bike is running, I can hear a faint, constant, high-pitched whining sound, that I assume is the fuel pump.
Anyone else experience this sound? Is this normal?
Thanks

Upon starting, the fuel pump pressurizes, then stops, just like it should. I'm familiar with this sound, this is not my complaint, or concern.
Once the bike is running, I can hear a different sound. A sound that is not the same as the fuel pump being pressurized. A sound that I vividly described above.

It's your fuel pump. My 2011 SG was the same way. Annoyed the hell out of me. Told the dealer about it and they said Harley would only replace the fuel pump if it failed.
I know that my bike didn't start out with the whine, but got progressively worse the more miles I put on. At least with the OL on the back, the fuel pump whine was drowned out by hers.
