Big inch baggers

RE: Big inch baggers
Welcome to the site dog155. While you're checking out big inch builds, be sure to check on www.zippersperformance.com for their 120ci kit and, especially for your application, the Magnum 124 build, since you'd have to fabricate an exhaust for the build you're talking about anyway. There's a hell of a lot of expense with beefing up the peripherals, but I know I'd love to get on one and ride like a fiend. Keep us posted on your build and post some pics when you learn how to upload them; I think a moderator posted the link for pic instructions earlier in this thread.

Like I said earlier,I may need someone to hold my hand,I'm quite old school when it comes to computers.I have tried all options sent me,as you see still no pictures.I will figure it out,my focus level is intense. Good news! the 155" now has a new home, the frame, except for paint, was finished yesterday. One more mockup before I head down to R&R for the crank and cam install.Which by the way is a must, their engine builder, Sam, has her act together.Because of the crank bearing upgrade to support the extra cubes, and the gear drive cams, and because I do not have all the special fixtures needed,I look forward to the visit. I have been looking into mega inch motors for years, and have a file full of info sheets of just about every big engine builder out there. My parameters were,First quality, overall size, close proximity to home, then a visit.Of course riding bikes with R&R motors was a very big selling point. dog155, Sounds like a fun build. Don't listen to these guys. I have a Jim's 120 in my RKC, still has the grenade pin in. Makes 134 HP and 139 LBS. RIde it like I stole it everyday. The only reason an engine grenades is because the builder did not take precautions according to it's use. Build it within means and take time verifying every spec, Keep it within it's rpm range and let the front wheel fly.

Gutman,You are right, and that is the very reason why I build my own motors, for that matter the transmissions also.I ride all my toys like I stole them, with No Fear. The bottom line is knowing the basics and regular mantainence. After having my 124"RK for three years,it has made me want to own a bike that scares me.Don't get me wrong,my wife and I both feel that a 120ci+ motor is almost the perfect bagger motor for us.She loves the torque, and the rollons.Try to get a ride on a 150ci+ and see what I mean.

Big Tom,I believe the lift is .620,honestly I do not have the complete engine yet.I brought all the aluminum home for polishing. In a couple of weeks the polished aluminum is going back down to have the crank and cams installed. We both thought it would be a good idea because I do not have the TC tools and fixtures.I will have all the info after that. With the amount of torque the street version develops I would guess that the duration is fairly short.Dog

Hey Mike, looking forward to some pics of the 155" project in progress. When it's done, how about somethin' with the front wheel off the ground and a little smoke in the back!
