Some say you can use the USB cable that comes with the Garmin. But that is really intended as a "data" cable and when I plugged it in, I never could get it to power up the GPS.

This looks like what I was thinking about. If I were sure I'd want to use the GPS on the bike I'd go the Garmin hard wired adapter, but this option should give me a chance to test it. Like I mentioned before, the GPS was basically free, so i don't have much into this. My "cage" has a much nicer, fuller-featured GPS, but didn't think I needed that on the bike.
