Default Trip Reset Button

I push it in and nothing happens. Reset it every time I fill up and use it based on miles between fuel stops. Odometer turns but won't reset.

Thanks for your help.

make sure that it has not came loose, the rubber portion on the front just screws on to the reset switch, my switch did this and fell out the back and was hanging behind the fairing, and the rubber portion was just stuck to the plastic when i pulled on it, it came right off exposing my problem, I was lucky this happened to my dads 99 electra while driving down the road, he pushed the button it fell off and lost it.
