Default Hornet Deer Whistle......experience

I have a Hornet deer whistle installed on my bike and I have never really noticed if it works or not as I never seem to have it on when I see deer or I have it on and never see deer....seems like it works right...LOL....I am curious if anyone on the forums have experience with the Hornet and what they have noticed.

They are also quite effective at keeping away dinosaurs, and yetis, and the abominable snowman, and.....

Sometime ago I met the inventor of a certain brand of deer whistle in a casual setting and he openly stated that it was based on nothing more than a "theory" with no real world data to support the effectiveness.

Take it or leave it

Google Deer Whistle. For the most part, they do not work according to reviews.

Many folks around here seem to think they work fine. They'll call the deer right to the front of your car...

When the deer whistles first started hitting the market, the trucking company i drove for bought into the hype and installed them on several trucks. Thought they were great til 2 drivers both hit deer on the same road, same night. When contacted, manufacturer told boss " both those deer must have been deaf" and refused to help pay damages so i've never used one since.

Thanks for the replies....I don't believe the cheap 2.95 walmart whistles work but I really want to now if anyone has had any experience with the Hornet or similar brand.

I have never used a deer whistle on any vehicle and have never hit a deer in 35 years of driving/riding. Draw your own conclusion.

They work great until you get to the old bucks that are hard of hearing.

No real world experience here, but your post is a classic example of how some company's keep selling stuff.

If a "cheap" product is no good, then a more expensive one has to work.
Of course that may be true in most cases.

In my opinion, these deer whistles are not one of those cases.
