indy may have screwed us

Well said. Everyone can have a bad day. I wouldn't necessarily "ream" the mechanic, but give him a chance to make it right. If you go in loaded for bear, you'll just push him into a corner, and he'll feel the need to defend himself rather than look at the issue objectively. Let him know what happened, and ask him what is he willing to do to make it right.

The whole thing is he was questioned about the belt when they picked the bike up. He basically told some bullshit story how Harley switched between narrow and wide belts whenever. There is obviously a specific time period when the switch was made. He had a chance to say he screwed up, or one of his guys did and he didn't say that. It's not my bike and I am not sure there was any resolution today or not but I will keep you posted.

Yelp him, call the BBB and the BAR. If you paid by credit card file a dispute with them too. If MOCO did change the belt width no matter what time period it was, they would say specifically what pulley will and will not fit, hes just not that bright to look at all the facts obviously. Friken back yard mechanic. People like that need to be out of the business.
Also as far as the valve stem issue, changing tires is not rocket science, they probably had an ignorant lot boy in training do the job, anyone worth a chit wont skip corners.
