I'm curious as well.. When I did my 103 build I read it was better cost and performance wise to have head work done on the stock 96 heads as to run the SE 110 heads. I chose not to do any head work but I assume its like all head work, the person needs to know what they are doing and some being better than others

I would like to hear how the SE 110 heads perform on the 103 too.

I am using the SE MVA and they are the cnc ported version of the SE 110+. There are pluses and minuses to using the SE 110+ head on a 103. First the pluses, they are a very nice head that will port out and flow beautifully whether it's the MVA version (300cfm+/- or when ported by hand. A 103 probably doesn't really need any porting on the standard 110 casting but it's there if you want to do it. No wondering about performance, these heads flow about 240cfm a bump of about 40cfm over stock. No waiting for a porter. You still have your stock heads unmolested(if that matters to you). Head is ready for a .660 valve lift cam. Now the minuses. The SE 110+ that is a sold thru SE are solid heads with no issues except for some that had seal issues. You have to run a pop up piston due to the 95cc chambers or the CR will be low. Some don't like the cast iron guides. Valves are big, so lifting them real high off the seat on a 103 isn't necessary and can be counterproductive. Valves are big so the torque curve can be pushed to the higher end of the rpm range, this is the counterproductive part I was talking about. There will be NO map that will work on the bike, oh you can try, but you're headed for the dyno room eventually. Some don't like the Screaming Eagle on the head. Cost can be a plus or a minus depending on what price you get them at.
I am running a .575 cam with a 58mmTB with HF injectors SE 10.5 pistons and a 68t rear sprocket(same as stock 09-up) on my 08 FLHX and MVA heads. Fun to ride and gets good mileage when ridden sanely.
This has been my experience over the last 2+ years with the MVA and have a friend that messed with the CVO recalled 110 heads for a while.

Thanks for the input. Was thinking of 110 heads on my FM 107 build and deciding between sending my heads for work or buying some 110 heads off of Ebay.

there is a difference between the cvo 110 heads and the 110 plus heads i have the 110 plus heads and the pistons to bring the cr up to 10.5 to 1 im also running the woods 555 cams . it runs pretty good alot more fun now than stock and i got 100 horsepower and 113 torque . i believe there will be a little more once it gets broken in.i went with this setup because the dealer cracked my heads during the cam install and had to buy me new heads and i was able to upgrade at a huge discount(they felt pretty bad) so far im happy but definitely needed some dyno time on this build

Wow, do tell. How did they manage that during a cam install?

they said they couldnt get the 2 piece pushrods in without taking off the rocker covers(no idea why they couldnt when everyone else can) but when they torqued the rocker covers down he said the thread holes had oil in them and they cracke heads while torqueing them down? not 100% sure about their story all i know is they gave me 900 towards heads and discounted the se heads by 25% SO IT IS WHAT IT IS all worked out in the end
