Default Tour Pak Lid Organizer Adhesive????

I installed the tour-pak lid organizer from HD about two months ago on my Ultra Classic. Followed the directions to the T. Temperature was mild and waited 48 hours to load organizer. Temps in the East this week rose to 104 and the tour-pak fell off. I stripped the adhesive that didn't melt away off the tour-pak and the lid. Any suggestions what to use to re-attach it. Was thinking 3M tape or even Crazy glue. Forums has helped me greatly in the past with repairs/projects. Just wanted to put it out there before I proceeded. Thanks in advance for any help.

There is several ways to do this.

1. Install a luggage rack and use the bolts to help hold it up. Thats what I did on my 05 EGC.

2. Cut it in 3 pieces and aply several strips of double stick tape, and stick it to the inside walls of the tour pak. The two sides and back side. Thats what I did to my current bike.

For my lid organizers I used the 3M stuff that came with it and it lasted like a year I think, then my Dad used Gorilla Glue and that was just disaster. I just put them back in using 3M tape. It is for indoor/outdoor use and holds up it 5lbs and is red. So far it's holding up good.

I'm having the same problems with my lid organizers. Kind of expected it to happen. Anybody try spray adhesive?

Luggage rack bolts for extra support is the only permanent solution I found so far everything else had limited life.

I've tried everything...3m adhesive, tape, etc. Nothing would ever work, especially when I had the organizer loaded. Finally got tired of messing with it, and knowing I have no reason to pull it off, I super-glued it. It stays put now since doing it a couple of years ago, and I have a ton of stuff in it.

the industrial strength double sided tape is working so far on mine and it's about a thousand degrees in the garage.

I used PL Premium Bond Strength from Lowe's or Home Depot... Your Lid Organizer will never come off.

I didn't even try to use the tape, I just run the tourpak rack bolts through and don't worry about it.

I installed my HD saddle bag lid organizers last winter when it was still cold here is Colorado, which is not recommended. What I did before install was lay them on the garage floor and heat up the adhesive strips with my wife's hair dryer. I heated up one, then removed the strip backings, then applied it to the inside of the saddle bag lid. Once stuck on, I pressed very hard and immediately used the hair dryer again. Then I did the other saddle bag the same way. Once both were on, I blasted each one with the hair dryer 2 more times each, pressing the organizers down again. The next day I gave each organizer 1-2 more heat blasts each. The next day I loaded them up with stuff, and have been using them without issue for about 4 months. I think the combination of heat and reasonable cure time was the ticket for a strong permanent bond.
