Fog Lights

RE: Fog Lights
The lighting you get from these is wide spread and mostly close up, as fog lights should be. I think they are bright enough to be easily seen as well. I did not like the switch that came with them, so used the ACC switch on the lower dash, and ran the wires inside the engine bar. Sorry no pics good enough here at work.

RE: Fog Lights
I have a set sitting on the shelf in the back of the garage.. I took mine off.
Here is why.... I spent 20 bucks for a Sylvania SilverStar bulb at AutoZone and is brighter and whiter than those lights AND the auxilary lights AND the stock bulb combined.
I didn't find them worth having or keeping on the bike.. your mileage may vary.

I've been seriously considering these myself.
PriestFan: Where do these lights really shine (pun intended). Do they light up more of the side of the road or straight ahead?? Or a little of both. Have you ever done a night test by switching them off just to see how much of a difference they make???

RE: Fog Lights
I have an 07 SG and I had them installed at the dealership when I bought the bike. I really like the look as it keeps a cleaner look on the front than the round passing lamps. As far as perfomance I like the engine guard fog lights for these reasons. The light projects from a lower position, therefore does not seem to irrate a driver /rider ahead of me at night so I feel better about using them. (I'm told this by friends who have commented after riding in front of me.) Again, the light coming from the lower position projects a wide spread and gives a clearer peripheral image of the road. They are plenty bright during the daylight and IMO a safety item relative to being seen.
The cost is $135.00 + labor. The supplied switch is mounted in front of the left grip for easy access and is a push button. I expect you could use the Acc rocker switch on the dash but I opted for the eaiser to reach position. The dealership would not drill my engine guard for in-tube wire installation and they tie wrapped the wires on. I will clean that up by moving the wires inside the tubes as soon as I get some time.
One other note, if you have an SG and want to do the work yourself the dealership said that the fairing cover had be pulled to access the wiring harness. They charged me 2 hours to do the job.
Giv'em a try you will like them......
