Default Samson M-165 Silver Bullet Longtail (fish tail) Mufflers

I am contemplating these mufflers. I am at my whits end with a squeak that is coming from my SE Slip on's, No its not the rubber straps, I took them completely off and it still makes the noise. I figure it has to be something internal in the pipes.

Any way, I'm looking for feed back on these pipes. How do they hold up? How do they compare volume wise to SE mufflers? I like a bark, but I want to be able to hear my tunes on the highway.I always liked the look of fish tails, not sure If I want the Longs or this shorter style.

These are the ones with baffles.

Steeler...you might want to ask this question over in the Softail Section. There's a lot of guys who use these pipes on their Deluxe's and I bet somebody over there would give you some feedback. For some reason, except for the RK Classic's, touring bike owners don't use them alot.

I ran them a bit on my RKC with true duals and liked them for a little while (see pic below). They had good performance with the baffles and the chrome holds up well from Samson. They can get a little on the loud side at high rpms (pulling a hill or taking off).

Default Samson Fishtails

Been running them on my 07 RKC just over 3 years and 25000 miles. Had the SE pipes since new but couldn't hear my bike when riding with a group. Solved when I put the fishtails on. Since, have tied them to V&H Dresser Dual head pipes. Picked up some volume across range. Then, added the SE 255 cams. Now, loud at idle, not so much when rolling, nothing sounds better at 2500-3000 rpm, have the bullet speakers mounted on engine guard associated with my mp3, and easily hear music over pipes up to 65 mph, music falls off fast at 70 due to speaker placement and wind noise. I really like the look, sound, and quality of my Samson Fishtails.

I have the V&H fish tails. Long tail look with a muffler body as opposed to a straight drag pipe look. The straights look better on a softail to me.
Standard baffle sounds great and perhaps even better with true duals. Quiet Baffle sounded like crud. SC
