Default Where do I look for ABS?

So I may be finally joining the new millennium. I am looking at an 09 ultra. Where do I look to see if it has ABS or not?

Look on the outside of the left (clutch side) rotor. You'll see a black wheel bearing spacer that includes the sensor (ring).

There will be sensor wires behind the front fork sliders and on the swing arm. There is also a warning light on the dash and the ABS module is behind the right side panel on touring scoots.

The ABS models have a small black (Plastic I think) ring on the front wheel that is visable

Look for two cables routed along the right side of the steering head from the area behind the headlight to under the tank, and a black plastic ring up against the left front brake disk. Non-ABS '09s and up have neither.

Where is the warning light on the dash?

Will not abs bikes have a plug there?

All of the little tell-tale lights on my ABS-equipped '11 RK speedo -- ABS, Security, low fuel, 6th gear, cruise -- are totally invisible until they light up unless you shine a really bright light on the speedo surface and look very closely. I suspect the ABS tell-tale is on all the speedos but just never lights up if ABS is not present.

the quickest way is to see if you have an additional cable zip tied to the left side brake line. if you just have 2 brake lines (1 per side), then you do not have abs.

When you fire the bike up the ABS light on the dash will flash until the bike moves and attains 5mph then if the system is sound the light will go out. If the system detects a problem the light will come back on and the system will be disabled and the brakes should operate as a non-ABS system would.

Thanks everyone. Looked at it yesterday, but of course didn't take a pic of the left side. I'll call this morning.

If your not sure, just pull the right side cover off. If you have ABS you will see a few valves, brake lines and modules.
