To all the "canned mappers". You do realize that the canned map from 'Your" dealer only returns the air to fuel ratio to 14.7 : 1. That is the same ratio, epa required, that your motorcycle came off the shelf with when you bought it. Any perceived performance enhancements are due to the change in exhaust and intake. The $150 map download, 10 minute job, makes the $35 T shirt look like a good deal.

According to the HD web site, the combination of new backing plate and the factory download increases horsepower and torque for my '09. See the link below for a dyno chart comparison.

For most, including myself, the factory download/air cleaner combination runs fine. I'm not aware of any tuner that can be purchased for the same $150.

The Rino's and the V&H Monster Oval's are very popular slip-ons around here, along with the FuelMoto and Rush slip-ons.

If I understand you correctly, you and a few others on this forum are saying the Dealer DL is a waste of money?? Even though for a stage1 setup like I had on my 09 EGC with SE air cleaner and Rush slipon's with 2 inch baffles ran flawlessly for a year. The MoCo warrantied the bike for two years and offered ESP for an additional 5 years and even more. Just doesn't make sense that they would do that if it didn't do any good.
I know a guy who's running his bike with Stage 1 and a mild cam with the Dealer DL. If I hadn't tried the Xied's and they work great, I would still be using the Dealer DL.

I have a 2011 RK and plan to go ahead with a stage 1 upgrade using V&H Monster Rounds, a Fuel Pac, and Cobra air cleaner. I don't want my dealer to do the upgrade beacuse when they they heard i wanted non-HD parts (which they do sell) they wanted a day to dyno it. So, I plan to install it myself. Does a stage 1 upgrade impact the factory warranty?

No, a stage 1 doesn't effect your warranty. You see what I'm running in my Sig Pic. The only thing my Dealer told me was to be careful letting Dealer's know I had the Xied's for fuel enhancement. He said some might flag my Vin number.

If you think that an extended warranty has any concern with a dealer download, you should also check your muffler belt. You can pick up the phone and get an extended warranty from just about any dealer, and they could care less about downloads or upgrades.

Get rid of the cat unless you like smelling thigh bacon on hot days. Mine dropped a few hundred degrees. I put the Rush ceramic coated pipes on. They were about $300 bucks.

I meant they are not going to offer a DL that doesn't protect the engine they are standing behind with an ESP. I might just know a little about what I'm talking about. I've been riding since 1967. I raced for several years. I've owned and worked on several Harley's. I'm asking how can you say the DL is worthless, when it works for a lot of people including myself on previous bikes???
