Can I ride In California with Rinehart Tru Duals?
#41
I remember reading the same crap when I bought my Rinehart TDs. I got a little irritated and then I remembered I had no intention of ever moving to the state…
My OL always talks about wanting to move there and I always need to reminder her that she will be alone.
Aren’t they trying to split Kalifornia up and create a 51st state?
BTW, I do like the sound of my TDs...

i dont live there but dont see how it can be a problem. you are a resident of another state. i dont thik there is a law that makes you update a motorcycle or automobile to their states epa or noise standards just to visit their state. if there was that would kinda hirt the tourism wouldnt it? if you dont ride through town at 6,000 rpm i doubt there will be a problem.

Try telling that to a LEO when going from a no helmet state to a mandatory helmet state. It is the responsibility of the rider (driver) to abide by ALL of the MV laws of the state. Unless you're driving a truck up from Mexico then no laws apply. ;-) My favorite Mexican vehilcle code enforcement law is that no vehicle is allowed to have BOTH headlights on at the same time. And amazingly, they NEVER find anyone down there in violation.
Now with regards to the loud pipes. I have been running V & H Bigshots on my Dyna for 8 years and have never had a problem. I now have an Ultra with Rineharts and they actually are easier to keep quiet when the need arises. Having said that, there are still certain things you don't want to do. Don't be a throttle jockey and don't ride with Azzhats who are! That is the first rule.
Enjoy riding in California as there are some spectacular roads and rides.
