Default Dissconnect Battery before PCV?

After reading directions I don't see unhooking battery before installing the PCV. Have always unhooked battery before anything electrical?
Thanks.

Hooked mine up without unhooking the battery and had no problem with mine. Guess its ok either way.

While disconnecting the battery or removing the main fuse is not a bad idea when servicing any electrical component you do not need to unhook the battery cable when installing the PC-V

Pulling the main fuse is the easiest method. And yes you are correct to do that before any installation. It says in the service manual to do that. Even the directions that comes with the SE I intake says to take the main fuse out first.

An integrated Circuit (computer chip) can short out with as little as 25 volts, that is far less than the static electricity shock you get from touching a door handle which is usually around 2000 volts (talking volts, not amps). To paraphrase, the more brain power the device has the more you need to protect it by pulling the power. As Jamie just said, you do not need to pull the power for a PCV.
