New bike, when can u go synthetic
#4
They ship the CVOs with syn3 new from the factory so I would say when you want to. I know that alot of guys switch at the 1000 mile service. My mechanic advised against it for his own reasons and he works on a fleet of Police bikes for a living and side work for the rest of us. I know there are alot of posts about oil and everyone has an opinion. I think I'll stick with dino.

Agree.... And keep in mind, the trans comes with gear oil, IMO put a syn gear oil in, amsoil makes a great severe gear oil!

I go along with anytime you want.
But here is how I did it.
Dropped the break-in dino oil only at 35 miles, and filled it again with dino. (90 percent of break-in is complete in the first 30 miles)
Oil and filter change at 350 miles. Went to Synthetic.
Changed oil and filter at 1000 miles.
Then regular intervals. For me that's 2500 miles.

You really read them all, get outta here. Most builders will suggest break-in with conventional oil, then you can run whatever you want. Now then, what defines break-in is a whole nuther can of worms.
