I'm no audiophile, but the boom speakers work fine for me.

 

I have the Boom audio, if I had to do it over I'd go a different way. Although they are better than stock, they could be better for the money.

 

I have 7 1/4 J&Ms and my riding buddy has Booms. The Booms sound good but not as good as the J&Ms. Phat Performance has J&M for 199. Use hdforum as discount code.

 

I have the J&M in the front. Got a good price so I decided to try them. They sound really good. I then decided to replace the back speakers and I put the Boom speakers in that location. I wished I woiuld have put the J&M in the rear. Even though the Boom speakers sounds good and they are better than stock, I personally like the J&M sounds better on my bike.

 

Thank you all for your input. I really needed the input on the 5 1/4 J&M's as I know the 7 1/4 are good and now at a better price than I thought. I can make a choice with confidence now. Ride safe
