Default Audio question

From what I have gathered the head unit in my 2011 RG puts out a 2 ohm signal. I have been looking at buying the Rockford Fosgate PBR300X4 amp and the Rockford Fosgate P1653 6.5" speakers and driving them with the stock head unit. My question is the speakers and amp are rated at 4 ohms, what issues if any is that going cause me.

They will get half the power of the 2 ohm speakers.

None. The speakers will get their signal lfrom the 4 ohm rated amp, and they're 4 ohm rated speakers. It doesn't matter what the head unit is rated at.

Ride safe!

It's not going to cause any issues, it will work just the way it is designed to.

The HK head unit won't "drive" anything; it simply supplies the audio signals to the amp (which has an output rating of 4 ohm impedance as you say, but no input impedance spec). The fact that the HK is a 2 ohm impedance output won't have any effect on what you're planning. I have the same HK and amp set-up (w/ different speakers) and am very pleased with the power and sound albeit in a 4-channel set-up.

Wrong!

As already stated, the HK is only giving you a signal, as shtty as that may be using adaptors. But you are bypassing the amplifier section and only using the HK as a preamp.

At some point you would be well advised to buy an aftermarket deck with true preamp outputs. This will improve your sound for sure.
