The Dragon was untouched. Worse areas was a direct hit on Gatlinburg and the roads off of "the Spur" between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, the River Road downtown Gatlinburg and the area out by the Motor Nature Trail. Also burned is a large area in Tellico Plains, where the Cherohala Pkwy starts/ends. Also burned is a large area in Walland, Tn just out of Townsend on Hwy 321. 15000 acres burned and 14 lives lost. Structure damage heading toward many millions.
Sounds like started by a couple teenagers with books of matches and yes, on purpose.
