My Suspension Upgrade Report - Ohlins and Monotubes

Im leaning towards the 3's now... If i had a Ultra or Tourpak - id maybe put the 6's so external resovoir is easier accessed and i agree looks cool..but since the Street Glide is lower and closer to the pavement maybe the 6's will prevent the bottoming out vs the 3's ! AHHHHHHH !!!!!... i keep bouncing back and forth..

Neither do mine, even when loaded up with the kitchen sink! First shocks in almost 40 years of Harley ownership that don't bottom out at some time.

Ditto for my $400 HD Premium Ride shocks and the hand adjuster makes the preload a cinch to adjust.
Yup. I ride aggressively with my sport-touring buddies in the mountains and always run out of cornering clearance long before the shocks are pushed anywhere near their limit.

How do you like the HD Premium Shocks? Can you compare them to any others? These are one of the sets I am considering when I upgrade.

BTW - i tried the HD P-shocks... better than stock and similiar to progressive shocks.. but i still think not good enough for the stock height of a FLHX which i lower than a Ultra series.....wouldnt be surprised they make them for HD.... to what i understand, your comparing Apples to Prunes when talking about Ohlins and HD shocks...

tj tells you in his post! Like you he has an SG and has replaced his stock 12" shocks. Howard can supply his shocks in different lengths, so give him a call and discuss your requirements, so he can recommend a suitable length.

Stock on Street Glides and Road Glide Customs is 12" , the #3-#1 are 12" , I went with the #3-#3 , the lowest you can adjust these is 12 3/4" , stock on other bikes is 13" , so I'm 3/4" taller for my bike 1/4" lower than other bikes , I wanted the longer stroke of the #3-#3 over the #3-#1
