Default Hot weather touring glove suggestions?

Been looking at the Olympia line, specifically either the 711 or 750 with the gel padding. http://shop.olympiagloves.com/

Anyone have any experience with these gloves or have any recommendations of other brands?

Any thoughts on "gel" padding? Guess in my old age I'm getting soft.

Heck with the gel just buy some good leather gloves.

Don't like the gel padding myself.

Default Why wear gloves at all?

I have never quite got the leather vest/glove thing when it is hot outside. Why don't you just buy nicer grips? I'm a computer programmer, so I don't have very calloused hands and my Kuryakyn grips work well for me.

I lived in Hawaii for 7 years and these are what I wore everyday. Very durable and performed good even when wet.

Deerskin gloves work well for me. They can get wet and it does no harm to them.

I use the QWI nerve protector gloves, the light leather ones, and they work great in the summer here in Florida.

Their pads really work for me. No numbness even on 500 mile days.

I use mechanix, suede palms for grip and mesh to breath. Wear them on the snowmobile too.
