Exactly. My backs of my hands are badly scarred from a crash where I didn't have gloves on that day (hot weather). My knuckles got ground to the bone as my hands were pinned under me as I slid on the pavement face down unconscious. Painful and very slow healing.

Imagine not having the use of your hands for a month? Wear gloves always.

In summer I wear perforated leather gloves. In cooler weather I wear elkskin gloves by Fox Creek.

Any thoughts on "gel" padding? Guess in my old age I'm getting soft.
Get some thin leather gardening/utility gloves and cut the fingertips out so that air runs into the fingers and out the cuff. I bought mine at a truck stop in a pinch and they work great.

honestly just cut the tips off of some glove liners and call it good.

I also like the Mechanics series gloves you can buy at autozone or Napa
