Default Fairing help / Windshield bolts

I need a little help with my windshield bolts. I replaced the windshield on my Streetglide with another taller version and when I was tightening one bolt, I noticed the female portion, in the fairing, started to slip... What's the fix ? I've never had the fairing off yet.

Go to the harley dealer and get the replacement nuts. The new ones are not pressed in and screw in. They have a slot that once they bottom out will break off. you then break off the other tab. You may need to slightly open the hole. On my 98 Electra Gluide I had them pull out. The new ones install very easy. If I remeber when I did this repair a few years ago, I used a tap to make the threads to make it easier for the new brass nut to go into. Email me if you want and I will send you my number
