Not sure what you looked at but my 12" yaffes are about 3" above the fairing. I went with Magnum Sterling Chromite cables. I bought through Dr. Vtwin. Have a few pics in my album.

I got my 14" Santee bagger apes from J&P cycle for $89 with my "gold club" membership. .....$99 regular price. Bars, cables, brake hoses all for around $280 with shipping. I had to order one of my brake hoses direct from Magnum. I'm not sure on difficulty level yet! I spent about 1.5hrs taking everything apart last night. I'm going to run my wires in my bars tonight(i understand that this will be the difficult part of this project!!!

It will be. Just be patient and take your time. Walk away if you become frustrated. It's not hard, it can just be a little tedious. Good luck

SG DAVE, I realized I ended up getting the bike I sat on in a pic of mine and the wifes at the beach, anyway after looking at it again they look like yours,i would like them just above the fairing. You think 12.5 would clear the mirrors? Sorry if it's been answered but I'm on a phone and it's difficult to navigate the post

SG-B,

I'm 5'6" as well and find the 12.5" bars very comfortable. I felt I was having to lean forward a little too far with the stock bars. I would get pain in my shoulders, especially after a long ride. Now, no pain and I feel like I have more control in the turns. I would definitely go with the higher bars again.

OK guys here it goes. I really know nothing about bars and which to choose. I am 6'2" and the stock bars have to go. I know the selection of bars has been beaten to death and I am sorry to chime in here and hijack. I need some bars BAD. The forward lean is killing me. I like to sit back into my backrest and cruise but I find that it is literally a real pain in the ***. What I need is to go up higher and come back. You guys have a pretty good thread going here so I need you to chime in. I have the 11" and 14" Santee's pulled up on JP right now ready to order. Just need some input.

Thanks

Also, the Santee bars come with pre installed threaders. you just loop your cables through and give the handle a slow pull and they come right out.

After much debate and (pm's) to members, I went with 12.5 PYO, Love them. I'm only 5'8", fits nicely , comfortably. Had gone back and forth trying to decide between 10" or 12". Very pleased with the 12's.
