Default Best Antenna to Use With HD XM Module Kit?

My 2011 Street Glide is getting the HD XM module.

Is there a better antenna to use than the small, square one that comes with this kit?

Thanks

I have the module as wel. I find that if therer is a better antenna out there I WILL but it. I find dead spots No reception ( maybe from being under the fairing) that in my car or tractor trailer dont.other than that I love xm on the bike.
I wonder if installing one from a auto kit would help?
I was going to talk to the tech when I have the 20k done to see if it can be relocated for better reception.

I have used 2 different antennas. The best results came from using an antenna made for home use, it has the largest surface area. Second, an antenna for a car will work better, it just needs to be as large as you can find.

If you are using the HD integrated XM unit, you will need to remove the pinkish red plastic around the module to get another antenna to fit, but all XM antennas have the same ends, HD uses a plastic bracket to help hold the connection secure.

Bottom line, antennas all relate to surface area of signal it can recieve, the larger the antenna, the better the reception.

It's not the antenna. It the antenna location inside the fairing.

If you mount the antenna that comes with the XM module where the instructions indicates to put it, you will experience poor reception.

I had the same issue on my '09 Ultra Classic. The first time I needed to pull the outer fairing off I relocated the antenna on top of the XM module with Velcro. My reception couldn't be better.

What happens with the XM antenna in the recommenced location is that the chrome trim that most riders have on the lower windshield will cause bad reception.

I use this antenna. Works where all others fail.

You can find it cheaper. Shop around online.
