I would have done the same as the op but I have also laid on the horn to get them to look at me. I recently purchased a high visibility jacket with reflective tape on it. I would rather be in one piece than look cool.

The last time that happen to me I of course did emergency movements to miss him. I was so angry then I thought .. "Thank you God for protecting me and allowing me to enjoy the one thing I truly love to do." "Praise your name my Lord and Father."

My girl friend ha ha ha the last time it happen with us together .... she shot the guy the bird, screamed at him, called him a Fer, and shot him the bird again. I am glad she didn't have a brick or a gun.

She says I am hot tempered and close to being a heathen. ha ha ha

Seem to happen to me allot if I'm not running my passing lights.

Just a few days ago I'm at light waiting for all left hand turners. Got the green started moving ahead, low & behold the simi I was watching decided to make a right, in front of me. Of course he'll need both lanes. I was ready for this from any driver.

So I slow down to a crawl right in the middle of the intersection. Waiting, smiling to myself. Then he slammed on the brakes, waving to me to go by. It was funny to see load rocking back & forth!

I looked and saw I wasn't running my passing lights, so the height of his cab and my single filament. Gathered he didn't see me. Probably heard me instead.

Every rider I know has similar stories to tell. It seems like it is only a matter of time before my luck runs out. When I find myself surrounded by idiots driving too close to me, if possible, I pull over and let them go. There have been times when the other driver was on a bike. I try to learn from each situation and decrease my risk over time. I avoid driving in the dark as much as possible. I stay clear of limited access interstates (no fun anyway). I watch my speed. I plan my trips to avoid traffic. If I've had a close call, I try to take a break and get my nerves calmed down.

a biker's reaction time is heightened and we actually can conceptualized multiple survival success scenarios for any given exhibition of other driver stupidity

you saw this coming because of high probabilities based on irregular other driver behavior....

Although road rage will/may possibly end in violence, I feel its necessary to wake some of these ******** up ,a little fear on their part may teachem somethin .In my state if someones threatening to run you over on a bike, deadly force is an option, cops will shoot a perpretrator if they use their car as a weapon against a motor officer, civilians have the same right .Now dont misunderstand Im not sayin shoot someone for being stupid but we are talkin about the possibility of dying because of someones arrogance or ego or they are just plain evil. You have the right to defend your self against a deadly weapon and a car is just that, I have had drivers look me dead in the eye and pull out on me many many times . Funny thing is after I bought my first batwing fairing bagger it happens a lot lot less because they look up and see what might be a cop........Ive even toyed with buying a white over black helmet.

It doesn't matter if you're in an F250 Supercrew or on bike (personal experience), people are just to preoccupied with other **** while they're driving. Then of course, there's just plain STUPID. Cell phones, make-up, reading books, using computers, the list keeps growing. I had a moron cut across 3 lanes in front of my F250 at 65 mph. Another moron on a cell phone rear ended my Vette at a stop light. A woman made a left turn in front of my bike while I was doing 40, and she was looking right at me. That one was close.
When **** like that happens to me on a bike, it pisses me off even more. I usually end up going home and changing my shorts.

I have something happen just about everyday... People turning right in front of me as I approach, turning left, coming into my lane, filling the gap between me and the car in front of me (wtf is up with that... I ride to allow braking distance and someone fills it, I can't ride so close to prevent that, or well I am tail gating and will eventually rear end someone!) Yesterday going down I64 east, in the rain... in traffic... car comes up on my a$$ about 5 ft off my tire. I touched the brakes, gave her the back off signal and finally turned and waved her to back the F up (I had a lot of room between me and the vehicle in front of me). She did back off and went around, but others haven't. Wife and I @80mph on I 95 in SC in traffic... Big black SUV comes right up on my a$$... I see the wife turn around and wave her back... she got closer. Eventually I was able to move over and let her by, she was on a damn cell.

I don't even pissed anymore. I have become numb to the stupidity, I must be first, driving is not my priority-texting or talking on my cell phone is my priority mentality. ALWAYS using SEE, to the point of changing my routes regardless of time to try to avoid the friggin rat race that thinks they are NASCAR drivers. Others don't think about how they effect us either. Riding home in the rain, a DOT truck rolls up next to me as I am trying to take it easy in the slow lane and keeping distance from rooster tails etc so I can see... he has to get right in front of me, comes over clearing me by a few feet, so I back off and then he slows to? WTF... I hate people more and more every day. Love my dogs though and family hmm guess I am venting a little.

Edit: I will add, I have had truckers block traffic from me in the rain on I95 and some drivers that give me a lot of respect when on the road (probably riders or ex-)riders. They refuse to tailgate and always leave a nice gap. They are few and far between, but REALLY appreciated... until some A$$ fills the gap.
