Docking kit on a Roadking Classic

Yes, without the hinge stop kit, the top of the lid hits against the front docking kit screws and makes a small circle indention in the leather the size of the screw head. With the hinge stop kit, the saddlebag lid only opens about half way and makes it a pain in the *** to get anything in or out of the bags. The best fix, a sundowner seat and no hinge stop kit. The extra padding on the sundowner seat will let the lid rest against the seat and the lids still open pretty good.

I have the hinge stop kit on my 2011 RKC because I wanted the Signature solo seat and the solo rack with the two point docking kit. The advice from Harley is that the stops must be fitted in these circumstances.
But as 1931jamesw says, the hinge stops restrict the opening of the lids so much that bag access becomes awkward. I didn't know this before and perhaps would have thought twice about it. But I did want the rack and seat so I guess I had little choice.
I think it's a design fault from Harley that the RKC lid openings have to be restricted so much just because the docking kit and rack are fitted.
One rather clumsy answer if I really need to open the lids fully is to release the bag from its two mountings and pull it forward a little.
