I'm not sure how tall you are but I think the extra 2 inches will be close for
me as far as me being able to see over it. I'm also curious what it would
do to wind turbulence around my head. With the stock windshield I pretty
much get the wind in the face and wonder how much would be deflected
over my head with the taller windshield.

I'm 6'4" and I have the tall windsheild on my RK custom.
The top edge is just below my line of site on flat roads. Going downhill, I seem to have to look through the sheild. It took a bit of getting used to, but I dont even notice anymore.
My riding buddy has a RK Custom with the standard sheild. I rode it once, and there was A TON more buffeting and air on my face. I didnt like it at all.

Petemac, this move would reduce your fuel consumption further than what you have in the other post. Comfort is one thing, air resistance/turbulence/control is another. 200MPH sportbikes always have their windscreens as minimal as possible. Aside from theoretics, I am in the powersports biz. Aside from conventional motorcycles, motorscooters are a big part of our operation.. Some models have ridiculously tall "barndoors" available for marginally powered vehicles. 30MPH around town is no big deal, once you hit 50 and the crosswinds start steering your handlebars, you feel what the theory translates to. If you want to reduce your overall speed on road trips, make the change. Keep your old one, you might find it handy.
