Default Expertise Needed (How To)

Just ordered a 17" Long Riders Shield today to replace my wind deflector. The person I talked with at LRS told me my hardest part of installing would be to pry apart the bars holding my current Wind Deflector without bending the bars. Anyone out there done this and have any advice to help keep me from screwing this up? Thanks in advance.

When I changed out my windshield, after removing the attaching hardware, I used a thin bladed screwdriver and very carefully pried them apart. I also used a little Goo Gone to loosen the adhesive. I did actually slightly bend one of the bars but they are pliable and I was able to bend it back to it's original shape. Just take your time.

Like said, use thin, long handle screwdriver and take your time and be gentle, they'll come off fine.

Same advice here. I thought it would be a problem, but it wasn't. Take your time and it should work out fine.

When I installed a Clearview a few years ago, my dealer suggested I put the windshield in the freezer for a half hour and the bars would just pop off, with the adhesive still on the bars. Worked perfectly!

Preacher... that sounds just crazy enough to work. I'll definitely remember this when the shield shows up.
