"Torque Cones"...not for me.

Not necessarily true, hence stepped head pipes. Scavenging, back pressure equal length head pipes etc all play a huge part in a pipes performance. Take for example the stock head pipe with a cat on the newer 96 inchers. You pull off the stock pipe and replace it with a non cat version, even though it is baffled, and you will feel a distinct seat of the pants difference in the torque curve otherwise described here as the perkiness in certain RPM ranges. Many either add cams to the stage one to compensate, or live with it for the better overall diveability and a cooler running motor.

I just came across your post, I had problems with my 14 flhxs 2 into 1 with103 with big bore kit overheating kicking check engine light on during initial 500 mile break in done all at once it never had a problem got home put cones in and it runs hot
It is some sales pitch, huh? Not trying to sale, just posting my experience with them. I have no problem tossing them out.
As far as the QQ baffles, too spendy for me. I will just suck it up until I do stage one and get it back from the front end.
There is nothing wrong with the head pipes, there is just a little less than there was. They still seat properly, seal perfectly and everything. I do want to get V&H Power Duals eventually.
