Any Mechanical differences between 2011 and 2012 Limited?
Trying to decide between a 2011 Limited or a 2012 model. Probably get a better deal on a 2011 "leftover", but wondering if the 2012 models have any improvements that I should consider.
....so far it looks like 2012 is perhaps going down as one of the least exciting years as compared to the previous year...who knows...maybe on the 20th they drop a bombshell...(a de-tuned 120 in a touring with subwoofer and reverse..)...but I doubt it...looks like no mechanical diff...just a few more inches in the motor...

Anyone know of any mechanical differences?
To me, the best thing to the Limited is the 103, so .... if the UC comes with the 103, then why pay more for all the other do-dads? Maybe I'm missing something.

Yep, your missing something. Base price went up $500 on the UC and only went up $100 on the Limited.
I wanted the ABS so difference would be even less. Bought a 2011 and after 5000 mi no issues other than the heat from the cat. A stage 1 will fix that. Did have to do a few fitment changes for a taller rider but thats going to be needed for any Electra Glide.
Talked to a salesman and he said something about the "Compression Release" being internal on the 2012 models. But, he didn't sound too sure of himself.
So it's "external" on the 2011's ?
Can anyone confirm this, and if so, what is the benefit on having it internal?

same compression releases on the 2011 103's as on the 2012's. automatic compression releases located out of sight. I doubt there is any eart shattering differences mechanically.
