Default Anyone see this before?

I have an 07 FLHX. Last night my speedo up and quit. So I cycled the ign sw to see if it would reset. No help. Next red light the bike shut down on its own. Started right back up and at some point speedo returned. And Now on my way to work this am the speedo quit again and after a lil bit the engine light came on and stayed on. After about 15 min the light went out and speedo returned. The only code I got was p0501.Which means VSS Low EFI from what I can tell. I am not sure what that code means and what if anything that has to do with the speedo.

Also check your battery cables, when they get loose, weird things happen. I have learned to tighten them up every time I have my seat off. Most every time one or both have vibrated out some.

It should be the spped sensor in your tranny. Less than 50 bucks and it's an easy plug removal and replace. Had the same problem on my "05 Springer years ago. After replacing the speedo, efi controller, and also getting a big bore and power commander installed, it was a 50 dollar part.

I'd try putting some dielectric grease on the connector's, the switch may not be bad just ate up from moisture. and maybe have your battery checked out with a load test.

It was mentioned earlier but loos battery cables will cause all manner of oidd problems. I would at least check those.
