Default AL20 XM Radio Moisture in LCD Screen

Just purchased the AL20 handlebar mount xm radio. First time it rained water got in the LCD screen and fogged it all up. The radio never stopped working and the moisture was evaporated the next day. Is this normal? I think it should not get water in it from rain. I called the dealer where I purchased from only 11 days ago and was told to call Garmin for warranty or replacement. Does Garmin make this for Harley? I thought they made only GPS's. The paper work says it is warrantied through Harley Davidson, see authorized Harley Davidson dealer for warranty issues?
