Trying my hand at a little photography

Looks really good. Keep taking pics with the aperture wide open to blur out the background and focus attention on the bike like the first one with the fire truck, sorry ... Fire Apparatus, in the background. I just would've like to have seen one showing more of the bike with the truck in the back ground.

What camera are you using?
To make your bike pop in the pics, you need two things. 1) some distance between the bike and background 2) shallow depth of field by using a wide aperture (f2.8 or so).
You can see you are getting some of that in the first pic. The others have a deeper depth of field, and the background competes with the bike. The ones with the signs have to distractions competing with the star of the show. The grass and cable take away from the bike.
In the last one you posted, try setting the bike about 10 feet or so away from the truck. Open the aperture and focus on the bike. Your bike will pop against a blurred image of the truck in the background. You could do the same with the signs and cable to see how that turns out.
Nice bike. Give some of the ideas around controlling you depth of field and let me know what you think. I do a lot of amateur photography whenever I get a chance.
