Default Hauling to Sturgis

Any of you ever transport your bike to Sturgis in the bed of a pickup and more importantly, are there any ramps in the area for unloading?

This is not something I am wanting to do, but its the only way I'm gonna get my wife to go and I don't want to buy ramps for a 1 time deal.

NO! before you even suggest it.

There has got to be a forum member close by in your area that would let you borrow them for the week I would think.

Ramps or a ditch. A friend of mine uses the ditch method, but when it rains he goes to the local Harley dealer and uses their electric lift / ramp to unload his bike from the bed of his pickup.

I have the loading and unloading at home covered. I have a forklift and could probably find a good ditch. Just wondering if there might be a ramp of some sort in any of the Hot Spots around Sturgis.

I had no problem doing it. We stayed at The KOA in Custer and they have a ramp built. Call and ask were you are staying.

Ditches are everywhere, just take a 6-8 ft 2x10 or 12 with you. I bet you won't have any trouble finding someone with a ramp you can borrow. Lots of people trailer to big events. If the ramp is attached to a trailer just back the truck up to the trailer and set the ramp on the back of the truck. Unload the bike on to the trailer then move the truck.
