You think it looks bad on the newer models??? You should see what the 4 point looks like on the older models. They have the big ugly assed hoop for the rearmost docking point.

Yep. Drove me nuts so took the 4pt off and sold it. I abandoned my thought of have both a chopped tour pak and a backrest. Found some slick detachable hardware at Fat Baggers that are hidden but it's only for a detachable backrest.

Same here. I bought and dumped the 4 pt without ever installing it. Then I was dumb enough to buy the 2 pt. I really don't have a use for it either so will be dumping it soon. My bike is black, the docking kit is black and has the black magnetic covers so it's not too bad, just thought I would use it, but don't.

i had the 2 point on mine. would really only use it for a solo tourpak setup. well, i don't have a tourpak yet, so i decided to just remove the mount until i needed it. its only 2 screws per, wouldn't take much time to re-install when i needed it.

i guess the hd engineers should come up with some quick detachable quick detachable hardware

I have the 4 point in black, and my bike is black, so it doesn't stick out too much. I use my tour pack quite often so for me, it may not be the best looking, but it is very useful.

Just installed the 4 point dock, in black.

BUT== are the caps (all 4) the same size?

Do you notice how 2 of the caps need to be longer to cover flush like the other two?

WTF? There is still a chrome gap now? That makes NO sense for someone who orders a black set up with black caps.

Any advice?

Thanks

no the caps come in like 3 or 4 different sizes...I don't remember off hand which ones are needed.....I do hate how the button heads are still chrome on the black docking kits. Even the docking points for the backrest on my X-bones have chrome bolts. Black would be much less noticeable.
