The same thing happened to me with my 09 Ultra coming back from a 5k trip, speakers cut out turn radio off and on again they would work for a few minutes then crap out again. I was 2 weeks outside my warranty and did a little research. What I found out is the dealers are aware of it and mine was caused by the radio resting on the front two handle bar clamp bolts, they have a service bulletin out on it and has the part number for the replacement screws that fixes the radio from hitting the screws and the vibration cracks a board in the radio according to Iron Cross. I took my fairing off and sure enough the radio had marks on the bottom from the radio resting on the bolts. Sent the radio to Iron Cross put it back in with the shorter bolt heads and have plenty of clearance and no problems since. Thats just my story.

Mine's boxed up and ready to ship to Iron Cross tomorrow. Since I only use the AUX function, I decided to get the HK repaired instead of going aftermarket. Getting the AUX in the back so no one will no there's a satellite receiver or Ipod on the bike (both are mounted in the saddlebag).
FYI- If you get your radio repaired by Iron Cross the first time for the $250, if anything goes wrong in the future, it's only a $65 charge. Here's what they told me......
"Currently, our average re-repair cost (for the lifetime of the radio with the original customer) is $65. We typically only bill parts on re-repairs".
That and they will be extending their warranty period from 6 months to 1 year in the very near future.
I have to say, they have responded to all of my e-mails with straight forward honest answers. I don't see how you could go wrong by letting them repair your HK radio.
