Ultra tour pak on 05 RK ?
For thoughs that have put tour paks w/lights on your RK's.
I'm doing this after painting soon.
Question. Is there a wire loom you can buy that will plug in
to the bike and then to the pak? Or will I have to clip and snip?
Rather not cut into the wiring.
I've ask at my local HD dealer with no luck.

Really? They couldn't answer that for you? There is no plug for tour pak off the main wiring harness on your FLHR like there is on the FLHT. However, you can make a harness yourself easy enough using HD connectors and running it off the accessory connector under the seat (using only 3 of the 4 slots.....ground/brake/running light). You can also get a quick connect set up from Ride Time here that would allow you to hook up the tour pak much like you would trailer wiring.

If it's an Ultra tour pak, an easy solution is to buy the HD turn signal conversion kit that retains the run/brake function of the corner lights, but adds a turn signal function to them. The supplied harness connects to the rear bike lighting harness under the seat; no cutting or splicing involved. Here's a thread on the installation:

Honestly, if you asked at a dealership about doing this, who did you ask--the receptionist???
Good luck with your paint and tour pak lighting projects.

Thanks guys, I'll look into both of these.
The Parts gal ask one of the tech's and he didn't know.
I would rather go with out the lights then to cut into my wiring.
Thanks again.

Another question [stupid, sorry], where will I find the acc plug under the seat?
thanks

About five years ago I purchased a detachable tour pak from a 99 Ultra on EBay to put on my 02 Road King and I asked my local HD dealer the same wiring question. The dealer informed me that it could not be done. Determined to prove them wrong I researched many options and I finally went with Ride Time. I bought the Quick-Connect Accessory and Trailer Wiring Adapter and the RTQC Quick-Connect Universal Wiring Harness and without cutting any wires, I had the tour pak wired (and still detachable) within an hour.
