Default V&H high output slip on mufflers question.

Was thinking of going with the high output slip on mufflers, it says designed specifically for tuned motors built for high horsepower, hi compression, large displacmeant, and big cams, but says as well as stock motors to, so would they work okay on a pretty much stock 96 inch motor as well ??
Thanks....

They are a straight thru muffler, no baffles.

You will loose a bit of back pressure on a stock bike and that might cost you some torque over what you could get with another muffler but would still bet higher than stock IMHO.

Those exhausts need at least 110 ci in order to be benificial. They produce very little back pressure and need plenty of size to overcome that.

For stock 96, IMO, the Jackpots or rush exhaust will produce superior results. If they have the look you desire, then you could try the Monster Rounds from V&H.

Don't put those on your 96, you'll be sorry. V&H's language about them being OK on stock motors is BS. I have them on my 103. Granted, it's not a 'worked' 103, but I can tell I need more cam & better heads to work in concert with these. Admittedly, I chose them for design reasons and availability of others really didn't exists at the time. They actually DO have baffles, but not in the sense we normally refer to them as. So yeah, you can see straight through them. In fact I purchased the baffles in order to get some backpressure back into the system. I'd been fighting with a real crap tune sold to me with my PC-V and the baffles didn't help much, and, sounded like crap. Subsequent tunes sent to me still sucked and I wound up trying the tune from my Roadie just for kicks. Runs a lot better, BUT, my 96" bike STILL runs way better than my 103" bike and all the power add-ons are the same except for those Hi-Output mufflers.
BTW, I have the Monster Ovals on the 96" bike. WAYYYY better!

I have them on my bike & with the Stage 1 they seem just fine. After I get my 255s installed I would think they could only improve. On a 96, you better heed to the others advice though....
