Default exhaust leaks

What's the best way to check for an exhaust leak? I just removed my exhaust system and installed the American Custom headpipe. I followed all the directions, but just want to make sure I didn't screw up anything.

I've always just used my hand. You'll feel it if it's leaking. Don't burn yourself!

Stuff a rag in the tail pipe - will cause back pressure and you would be able to see and hear a leak. Use a big enough rag so you don't burn yourself!

Wave a lit cigarette around the heads and the pipe connections.
