Take a look at this website regarding speaker impedance:
http://www.bcae1.com/resvsimp.htm
According to the author, speaker impedance is a "nominal value" assigned by the manufacturer; impedance varies depending on the frequency; etc.
He goes on to demonstrate that unlike a resistor which does not vary its current flow, speakers do vary because of the different current that passes through the speaker.

Received my PBR300X4 amp today; hope to do the install in the next couple of days. Included with each amp is a "Performance Verification Certificate" confirming test results for the specific amp you receive, including the actual power of the amp. In my case, the amp actually delivered 83W X 4 RMS; my buddy who purchased two amps has a PVC showing his amps deliver 85W--I guess I should be complaining that my amp only exceeds RF's advertised 75W by 8W while his exceed it by 10W.
Got mine from 141_starlifter (Scott); good guy; and, I'm also using his bracket for mounting the CB module below the HK head unit.
Kris, who started what has become a "saga" thread on the amp, has his and is working on the installation. I know he'll do a comprehensive write-up on his installation. And another forum buddy, is installing two of these amps on his SESG2--one for the fairing and fairing lower speakers (he's using Hertz 6.5's; and, the second for tour pak mounted speakers. He also is doing a detailed write-up.

I started a new thread on my installation and initial impressions of the RF amp:
